Holly Springs Express Honors JC Mullins

On April 25th The Holly Springs Express recognized and honored Mr. JC Mullins at the field which bears his name during pregame festivities. Mr Mullins, former Holly Springs Mayor and School Board Trustee, threw out the first pitch before the game against the Forsyth Long Horns.

Mr. Mullins envisioned and constructed the park in 1973 for the Holly Springs Youth Baseball organization. For more than 36 years, the park has been a source of community pride and countless hours of family fun.

In keeping with Mr. Mullin’s fine tradition, the Holly Springs Express Baseball Organization (HSE), a community-based sports program striving to positively impact the lives of young people, partnered with the Holly Springs’ Park and Recreational Department to completely renovate the park’s baseball field to its glory in 2007.

Since then, an estimated 8,000 people have visited the park and the City. Recognized by many coaches as one of the best fields not only in Cherokee County, but also in Georgia, the field, Holly Springs and the Express have received positive media exposure from the following: The Cherokee Ledger, Atlanta Journal Constitution, Whistlestop, WKHX-FM (101.5) Morning Show, and AM 790-The Zone.

The Holly Springs Express thanks the Honorable JC Mullins for his vision, hard work and commitment to our community.
